What is Jiaogulan

Jiaogulan is very well known in Traditional Chinese Medicine and grows naturally in SE China and in other countries of SE Asia, particularly Myanmar, Thailand and Laos.

It is often referred to as the Chinese “Super Herb” as it can be used for the treatment of several different ailments. Since the time of the Ming Dynasty in China, it has been praised as the “herb of immortality” due to its many health giving benefits and anti-aging effects.

In modern times, Jiaogulan is known as a very potent “adaptogen” and also has powerful anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Jiaogulan is one of the best adaptogenic herbs in the world as it contains such a wide variety of polysaccharides, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, flavones, saponins and many essential trace elements. Brewing the Tea

You can make Jiaogulan tea in exactly the same way that you make regular tea such as green tea or oolong tea

Allow one teaspoon of Jiagulan tea leaves per person.

Add boiling water to the tea leaves in a cup or a teapot and allow to steep for 3-5 minutes – or depending on your preference.

Jiaogulan tea has a slightly bitter-sweet flavor and is normally drunk without adding anything else – but if you prefer – you can sweeten it with a little sugar or natural Stevia herbal sweetener.
